I find these a great alternative to cotton as they are much less bulky, wick moisture and dry quickly. I bought a half dozen to try and liked them sdo much I bought another half dozen.

Ok, I admit it. I wore "whitey tighties" all my life, but was never satisfied with the classic cotton briefs especially when spending time outdoors where moisture retention is an issue. A few years ago I found the Terramar Four-Way Stretch Briefs and have never gone back to cotton. I wear them every day and have enough pairs to last a week or more. Comfortable, perfect fit, exceptional wicking, responsive stretch in the elastic, odor preventing technology, one cannot find a better pair of briefs anywhere. I wear nothing else but these, and have for almost 10 years. And they last for years wearing them everyday, not wearing out over a short time like the classic cotton ones. Staying dry outdoors is much more comfortable, and much healthier preventing growth of bacteria and fungus in areas where it can quickly end an outdoor adventure. These are simply the best.

I should have read closer to the description because I completely failed to see that these are made of 100% polyester. And the medium I bought looks like a large. And because they're polyester, I don't think they'll shrink. These are not for me.

Normal, cotton shorts age badly. The legs and waist become loose, uncomfortable and fail to keep my bits in place and comfortable. These shorts are stretchy. I recommend buying smaller than your normal size.

    • As stated in my review, these briefs seem really roomy at first look, and are slightly bigger that my cotton Jockeys or Calvin Kleins, but because of the nature of the fabric, they're comfortable. If you're a Large, I wouldn't order something smaller. I have a really skinny butt, and these briefs feel comfortably snug.

    • Out of the box, they appear to be a bit long, but they're a little stretchy and really, their bit of added length just makes them really comfy. I'm pretty fit with a small butt, but they are not droopy. If you have a big waist, go for the XL. I have other synthetic undies for their quick drying ability, and these terramar briefs are better than most.

    • My husband said they were fine for him and ran true to expected size. We also bought some Hugo Boss undies and they were small for the marked size.

    • I have washed them in a river or stream. Remember to keep soap 200 feet away from surface water (dump the soapy water in a sump hole). Yes, even biodegradable soap is still soap - 200 feet. If you just rinse them, you're good.
