I start wearing in Sept and don't stop until May in the Midwest. Moisture wicking is great: Keeps me comfortable when it's a bit warm in the store and I'm shopping, I wear them to bed and when a "flash" throws the covers off, the wicking properties of silk act like an air conditioner and I fall right back to sleep. I have used silks forever and don't care about the "runs", they are under my clothes. Machine washing them with your delicates is fine, but hang to air dry to keep them around much longer. I wish they made them in toddler and children sizes. My sons and partner wear them in the Men's styles. It took a bit of coaxing but the first time they wore them, they were hooked. I use the silk socks, glove liners and hood as well when I'm out in the cold for any length of time (Sierra, please put these in your line).
