Verified Buyer Reviewed by Elke from WesternNY on Thursday, February 18, 2016The material is thin and wicking and I don't know how but it cuts the wind. When it is really cold, I pull it up over my nose and ears and under my hat. washes great too. I hang it to dry.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by JRob from Michigan on Monday, February 15, 2016People that are critical of this item don't really know how the item is designed to be used. This one of those long, thin fabric tubes that can be worn 8+ different ways, Yes, it can be a thin neck gaiter for warm days or pulled over your mouth and up to your nose on cold days. It can also be a shellaclava worn under a ski helmet, a thin beanie hat, a pony tail wrapper, a pirate head scarf, a sweat band, a head band, etc. Users should note that worn as a shellaclava it tends to be a bit smaller with a tighter elastic than most - a plus for me, but if your head is on the larger side you may not find it very comfortable.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Sandy Chockstone from Omaha, Nebraska on Thursday, January 21, 2016Good for the basic face covering, but a bit too thin to stay up around your face. Would be more suitable for cold weather jogging, where you want protection but nothing too heavy. Also makes a cool headscarf.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by nursestryker from Chicago, IL on Wednesday, January 20, 2016works well to keep face, ears, and neck warm in cold temps.
wore it the other day in 10 degree weather on my bike and only thing cold was exposed area of my cheeks.
Did cause my glasses to fog, but virtually anything across my mouth / nose will.
