6'1" 185 lbs. - medium fits well. Runs a tad long in the arms, which I prefer, does not ride up arms when layering. I'm also long waisted and this is long enough that it doesn't pull out when tucked in. Use for back country skiing, downhill skiing, summer backpacking in Rockies. Light enough, versat... Read More

Question & Answer

  • “How come you never list the amount of the ingredients anymore? So much wool, so much other. You use too. Now you leave use guessing and having to wait till the item arrives to find out that the Company just showed the item the wool (< 25%). I want to be able to compare the items I purchase and buy the one with the most wool content (50 -75%). After all, if something has wool listed, I expect it to be at least 50% or list it accordingly. What happened to your site over the years. Have you gone commercial or does the public not really want wool anymore? You are going to make me buy my stuff from Goodwill.”

    • This shirt is 100% Merino Wool and a mid weight material. It was advertised as heavyweight. It actually looks good as an outerwear shirt in my opinion.

  • “what is the weight on these shirts. lightweight midweight?”
Asked by gino from pa on 12/19/2014 9:05:10 PM
    • About the same as a regular long sleeve t-shirt only warmer since it's wool.

    • It's a mid-weight base layer shirt. It's not the old scratchy feeling you might think of when wearing wool. Rather, this shirt has a silky-soft interlayer that feels great next to your skin. Please note that the sleeves run a little short. I ordered the medium size ( I'm 5' 10" & 160lbs) and it fits great. As a base layer, the shirt is meant to fit next to your skin, although its not a "compression-type" of feeling. Here in Indiana, we get plenty of cold, wet weather and this shirt helps me keep warm without a bulky feeling. I hope the information is helpful!

  • “I ordered two of these very recently. A black in large, and charcoal large. The black feels perfect, however the charcoal one itches like crazy. I can't keep it on. I'm not sure why the same product in two different colors would be so different. Is there something I can do to reduce to eliminate the itch of the charcoal colored one? Thank you. ”
Asked by Desmond from New York on 10/6/2013 10:42:49 AM
    • Since both are suppose to be made from merino wool they both should not itch. I would recommend exchanging the charcoal, maybe some how we got one that was not merino wool.

  • “I am a tall man and have issues with finding sleeves that fit. What is the sleeve length (measure out side from neck to hand)?”
Asked by Rev from California on 12/15/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • It is 35" for the XL.

  • “Is there a way to tell what weight (light, medium, expedition) these underwear items are?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 3/7/2012 12:00:00 AM
    • I recently bought Item #14303 and would say it is medium weight perhaps toward lightweight. The specs show product weight is 8.2 oz. Compare that to Item #3886Y Valde Merino Wool Base Layer Top - Short Sleeve (For Men) Weight: 4.5 oz. It would seen that the long sleeves of 14303 wouldn’t account for that much difference if the material density per square foot is the same. I bought both these items and compared them by viewing through them out my window. The 14303 seems a bit tighter weave. I got it for colder use and the short sleeve shirt for summer.
