Base layers are a must

My crew and I use both the tops and bottom long underwear when doing field work, which puts us in the mountains for several days at a time. We are at higher elevations in Hawaii, so it can drop down to the 40's but we usually wear this under our rain jackets when the weather is poor. Just having wool base layers is fantastic, wicking away moisture and keeping you warm even when wet. All of us felt that the cut could be better, and the arms/legs were a bit short, but all and all we were very thankful to have these on our last trip. We got rained on for four days straight and this kept us warm throughout.
