I ordered one and used it so much when cycling that I ordered two more. In 20-30F weather, it keeps you warm without letting you overheat when combined with a lightweight merino wool athletic sweater and a windbreaker.

And despite lots of sweating, it does not get stinky. Or, not very fast.

This arrived yesterday and I was thrilled that the weather changed so I could wear it today! As an overlayer, it was just perfect for an alternating-cool-and-warm fall day. I'm a huge fan of wool performance wear, and I like Terramar base layers a lot, but they are fairly utilitarian. This top is a cut above in styling and softness. The raisin color is a gorgeous deep true purple, prettier than the picture shows. The fit is just close enough to be flattering without being too tight, and the seams give it a great shape. The pictured shirt does not have cuffs, but the one I received does, and there are nifty thumb slits in them. The zipper is long enough to show a cami or tee underneath. I ordered my regular size and I would say the fit is true.

I'm looking forward to wearing this often as a casual everyday shirt as well as a base layer for outdoor sports. It is well worth the price, especially with a great STP coupon! I'll be keeping an eye out for other colors.

  • “Does this top have a lining?”
Asked by Anonymous from Unknown on 1/8/2010 12:00:00 AM
    • No lining - it's a single layer of merino wool, thin enough that I can make out my fingers through the fabric with a good light shining on it from my side (I have the black).

    • no. it's a very thin, single layered top.
