Verified Buyer Reviewed by Berkshires Biker from Stockbridge, MA on Tuesday, November 14, 2017This is a good base layer but works well as a shirt on cooler days. It is fitted but not too tight. Very attractive and priced well.
Reviewed by Benny the camper from Michigan on Friday, April 7, 2017Very warm but athletically cut with brushed interior means it grabs and twists whatever you're wearing under it. Size up to layer under it. It fits well and has a slimming design. The chest pocket sits a little higher than I was used to (above my collar bone when zipped) but it was easy to get used to and kept layered pockets from stacking.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by JIm from colorado on Thursday, March 23, 2017nice feeling product. I needed a heavier base layer and this was going to fit the bill. I am almost always a large at 6'2" 185 lb and a 43 chest size. This large was tight across the chest, but the sleeve length was ridiculously small, and this before any wash and shrinkage. just reaching out, say to open a door, the sleeve pulled back a full 3" from the crease line in my wrist. Of course the XL was not available, but I would guess that even an XL would have the sleeve length too short.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Darkswede! from Fall City, WA on Wednesday, March 22, 2017First time Terramar buyer. The fabric has a very soft "hand" and feels really nice. I was surprised by how thick/lofty the fabric was. For the weight of the garment, it was much warmer than expected. I'm used to using Patagonia, Under Armour or Kenyon light base layers and this one is significantly warmer. Too warm for me for spring XC skiing with shell. Maybe too warm for Alpine skiing with thick jacket unless it's in the teens or single digits.
If you run cold and have a hard time staying warm, this might be for you. The wool is on the outer surface. The side touching your skin is synthetic, probably to better transport moisture away from you.
Neck zipper is good quality and has zipper garages to keep the pull from touching your chin. Small zip pocket is nice for a small compact music player or a credit card and car keys.
I am 5-10 (in the morning after coffee) and 196 lbs. Stout build with 34" waist and normal length arms. This fit me perfectly.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by TahoeJoe from Tahoe on Saturday, March 11, 2017I was looking for a heavier first layer shirt and this one was it. I prefer zip necks because unzipping really helps cool me down when I get too warm. They call this a midweight baselayer, but it is definitely heavier than other shirts promoted as midweight. I don't generally like wool against my skin but this shirt is very comfortable and not itchy, perhaps because it is not 100% wool.
