These are different

These are different from Tevas I have had in the past. The "barefoot technology" is great. The sole is thinner and more dense, so you have a much better feel for the terrain under your feet. Tevas I have owned before felt like they had a bulky, mushy sole. These don't feel at all mushy. I might even try some hiking in these because I feel like I have a lot more control with the new sole design. I live in Utah, and we have a lot of mountains, but also a lot of heat. Over the years, Tevas have been the workhorse of my summer footwear stable, because they are perfect for the climate and the activities I do all summer long. If I end up in a stream or lake, they dry right out, and they have really good traction over the red rocks of our national parks. My only gripe against Teva has been that they locate the outside anchor point of the front strap right over my little toe. I would rather have it anchored back farther, over my foot, rather than over the toe area. This is still an issue with these shoes, but they don't wear or feel uncomfortable. I just prefer that the strap was anchored farther back, but that may be a personal thing, so feel free to ignore me. All in all, these are a great shoe. I hope Teva continues to offer the barefoot sole, because I really like it. It may not be for those who like a substantial or soft, cushy sole, but it's perfect for me.
