I still have the pair I bought 40 years ago

I went backpacking when I was 16 and another hiker had these for walking around when not wearing hiking boots. She wore them with heavy socks and said that they were the most comfortable for the weight shoes out there. She was right and I have travelled with them ever since. They are good for any situation where you will need to walk around but are restricted by volume or weight. I've taken them to beaches and skiing, worn them with socks and without. Although the other pair are still good (!!) I have had my eye out for replacements for years. Newer models have more support, better footbeds, are probably more durable but at the cost of that packability and lightness. I was thrilled to see these here.
