Reviewed by madtown from Wisconsin on Monday, April 8, 2013These boots are extremely comfortable right out of the box. Don't need a long break in time like some heavier duty hiking boots. The leather is nice and so far has held up pretty well. I can say I was caught in a couple of pretty good rain storms in these boots and they were no where near what I expected as waterproof. My feet were soaked by the time I walked the dogs home. Not like I was fully submerged in water either. I am not so concerned with the waterproofness as the soft soles. I have had these boots for almost 2 winters. I wear them almost daily but only for an hour or two out on our walks around town. The soles absorb water and wear fast. If it weren't for a great deal at STP I would be very unhappy. Thankfully they can be resoled with some better soles and will hopefully last a long time. I sure wouldn't want to pay retail for these and have to resole them a year later. I expect better from a company like The North Face.

Reviewed by Trr15 from Cheyenne, WY on Sunday, March 10, 2013Truly a great pair of boots. Extremely comfortable and exceptionally warm. Light and quiet as well. I'm curious to see how the soft outsole will hold up over time as I've only had these for a couple of months. These are now my go to winter boots. Should've bought a second pair while they were still in stock.
Reviewed by Claudius the Emperor from Connecticut on Wednesday, March 6, 2013An all-around beast of a boot. Comfortable. True to size. Rugged. Looks even better than the picture. Worth every penny and then some. For those of you wondering about the color (other websites show the camel to be a pale yellowish tan), the color advertised here is the color of the boot (the actual boot might be a shade lighter). My only regret is that I didn't order a second pair before my size ran dry.
Reviewed by Stephan Engineer with style from Massachusetts on Tuesday, March 5, 2013I purchased a pair of Cole Haan boots about 10 years ago and walked all over china on my weekends off and I searched high and low for a replacement boot for comfort for walking. I finally found that replacement. To me these boots are UGG boots for men. you could wear them around the house like slippers, or walk 20 miles in them around the city.

“The description of this item says that it is insulated, then on the spec page it says that it is non-insulated ... please clarify for me which is true. Also, is this the darker brown full-grain upper, or is it the lighter tan nubuck style? Thanks very much for your support in answering these questions for me.”
They are an insulated boot. The color Camel Brown/Slickrock Red (01) is Nubuck.
