I ordered a medium, it fits but not with thick sweatshirts. I wish I would of ordered a lrg., but now they're out. Hopefully they get more in.

I'm not thrilled with the northface products i've purchased lately. i dont have abnormally long arms, but this jacket has sleeves that pull down to my fingertips, otherwise the shoulders puff up like shoulderpads. it gives me a real 80s look. Medium is my go to size for northface, so i purchased this item online thinking it would suit me. perhaps a small would've looked better- but as there are limited supplies, there's no real way to return/exchange. Its warm, but no more so than my old generic puffy jacket. it'll do, but for the price (even the discounted price) i wish i'd tried it on first. i definitely would've passed.

I got my new jacket just in time for the cold temps to settle in. I am get cold very easily and this coat keeps me totally warm. In fact, I've even been too warm on occasion. Unheard of! I like the fit and love the adjustability of the hood. You can cinch it up so that no air gets in. I've never had a nicer hood. Overall love this coat. Looking forward to trying it under my shell while skiing. It will be nice on the coldest of days.

  • “Does the hood have the ability to come off?”
Asked by Laura from North Carolina on 12/14/2016 10:02:17 AM

    • the hood does not detach from the jacket. I have been very comfortable with the attached hood. When I need to put
the hood up on my head due to the elements it is very comfortable..not pulling or constricting.

    • No, it is water resistant. NorthFace has a DWR finish, which I assume degrades with use and washing. I bought this for downhill skiing on really cold days--which usually means sunshine, so being waterproof was not a deal breaker for me.

    • None of the literature says water proof. I am not concerned about...as long as I am warm I am happy.. I did have to exchange for a larger size which just arrived today.

About The North Face

Believe it or not, The North Face story didn’t begin on a high-altitude ascent. It actually began in San Francisco at less than 200 feet above sea level. However, what started as a neighborhood mountaineering shop has since evolved into an industry-leading, award-winning outdoor equipment and apparel brand. Since its inception more than 40 years ago, The North Face has grown to include clothing and gear designed for nearly every type of adventure, from alpine skiing to backpacking to trail running. Today, The North Face jackets and pants are chosen by world-class athletes, and The North Face rugged boots help carry explorers through the toughest terrain, from the icy slopes of Everest to Utah’s Green River basin.
