Great Jacket!Reviewed by LeBeau from Sun Valley, ID on Sunday, April 1, 2018I bought this jacket for my husband. I thought it was great! Perfect layering piece for skiing, nice alone in spring & fall...even for cool summer evenings here in the mountains. The fit was good as well...size large for 5"10", 42 chest, 167 lbs. My husband liked the fit and mobility for activities.
Great jacket, athletic fitVerified Buyer Reviewed by Chris from Colorado on Tuesday, March 13, 2018I liked the athletic (active) fit of the jacket and the fabric. It would be great for higher intensity activities as there isn't much excess bulk. Jacket is just warm enough to take the bite out of a real cool morning and cool night.
Good, not great jacketVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jim from Pittsburgh on Sunday, February 18, 2018Nice jacket, fit a liitle tight in the body, but sleeves are nice and long
nice tailored active fitReviewed by Dick Balzac from Norcal on Friday, February 16, 2018The jacket is stylish for a casual, going out jacket or an active hike in cool weather. According to the North Face website, it's a smooth-face fleece but it doesn't appear to have any water resistance like polartec or comparable fleece does. Anyhow, it's nice for kicking around here and there, and warm, but not too warm and it stretches so it's fine for activity in somewhat cooler temps.
I would just say to keep an eye on STP's sales. I don't know if I got it on sale about a week or so ago, but I paid $39.99 instead of the currently listed $59.99 (on 2/16/18). Because it's not a technical jacket with nothing but it's styling and stretch going for it, I probably wouldn't buy it at $60 as that's really not that great a deal but if it comes down to $30-40, it's something to consider if you'd like to add a casual and stylish jacket to your wardrobe.
I'm 6' with a 42.5" chest and a 30" waist and I liked the way the large fit better than the medium. If you're a hipster who likes skinny jeans and super tight fits, you may like the medium, but at my dimension, the large still looked tailored and had room for a sweatshirt underneath. Because I'm slim in the lower torso and only a 30" waist, the bottom part of the jacket is a little looser in the belly area but it's not a baggy fit down there.
