I recently retired from the US Army after 34 year career spanning dozens of countries around the world and every State in the USA. Though I tried many different boots along the way, there was only one brand of socks I would wear - Thorlo. For the past 15-20 years Thorlo had made a sock specifically designed to support the foot of a Soldier in the field, and this is that sock. For camping and backpacking I have used other wool or "rag" type socks, and never thought about wearing Thorlos until I retired. If they worked so well for me in the Army, why not afterwards? Duh! Perfect for working in the yard under working shoes or under boots clearing wood lines, I have never had a blister wearing these socks. And that is without ever using a liner sock either. Though listed as 2nds, that must be a mistake because these look new. Having bought dozens of socks over the years, I could not see any difference between these and the socks in my dresser. If these have blemishes, they were invisible to me. I also wear these in my other work when I must wear a suit and tie. Tall, they never let your leg show, and so well cushioned, they make dress shoes feel much better after one's feet are used to wearing boots. Soft, supportive in the right places and with incredible cushioning, there is no better sock on the market today.
