Great backpack!

I bought this backpack for cycling to work. It is really comfortable, the waist strap takes all of the pressure off my shoulders and the vented back is helpful (although it’s teally hot here so there is no escaping the back sweat).

  • Nice but the frame is awkward
Verified Buyer Reviewed by mojave hiker from joshua tree, ca on Sunday, June 10, 2018
This pack is really nice, lightweight, has just the right amount of pockets and for the most part I like everything about it. However, it has a weird frame to it. I don't know if it's just designed for someone much taller than me (I'm 5'4), but I can't look up without my head bumping the back of the bag. It's super weird and feels restrictive. Also, you can't access the main pockets without taking the bag off - for example, you can't take off one strap and move the bag to your side to rustle the pockets for a snack or layer because the frame is so tall. That means you have to take the bag off and set it down to get something out of it which is annoying when you're doing fieldwork. It's really a deal-breaker for me, but again, the rest of the design of the bag is great except for that detail.

The backpack is roomy, fits my laptop, change of clothes, etc., and the attached rain fly is cool. I haven’t gotten stuck in the rain yet so I can’t speak to it’s effectiveness.
  • Great day back

I am fairly tall at 5'8. I found this day back to be very comfortable. I hiked over 30 miles so far with it, and no complaints. It has enough small pockets to make it convenient, with a couple larger pockets for bigger items.
  • frame uncomfortable

I liked many features about this pack, but will be returning it as a piece on the horizontal internal frame bows out and pokes me in the upper back.
  • Frame pokes my upper back
Verified Buyer Reviewed by reds from Iowa on Tuesday, March 13, 2018
I just got the pack and like many of its features i don't think it's going to work for me, but think I may have a defective item. The upper horizontal internal frame bows out and pokes me in the back. The frame is flexible, I've hung it up, hoping it will straighten out. I've contacted Thule- but no response. I wish I lived near a retailer so I could compare it to others. If others have experience wth this, I'd like to hear if it resolve or is indeed defective.

  • “Is this product the same as the picture? Is there a front pocket? Because I see the official website of the product, there is no picture like this picture, so I'm a bit confused.”

    • This item is an older closeout version, not the current version on the official website.

    • I think the picture may be with the rain cover over the front. There is a great pocket with zipper near the top of the back then a larger open pocket that worked great fro stuffing extra clothing items , hats etc.

About Thule

The history of the Thule brand dates back to the early 1940s when Erik Thulin first used the name Thule on custom-made pike traps, which he sold to Scandanavian fisherman. Over the next few decades, the company shifted its business model to creating high-quality Thule car racks and eventually Thule bike racks and ski racks. Today, this innovative brand is considered a leader in car-top cargo systems. When you need to get your gear from A to B without added hassle, you can trust Thule ski racks, bike racks and kayak racks to keep your equipment safe and secure.
