Backpack is NOT as pictured.Reviewed by Jo from Kansas on Saturday, May 26, 2018I was trying to find a bag that fits United Airlines personal item size of 17 x 9 x 10. The dimensions of Thule Enroute 13L Backpack #377Ag were listed 16.5x9.8x7.9" and was available in bright yellow, black and plum purple. However, each picture was different. The yellow image was identical to the Enroute 18L which pictured a "crush-proof, fleece-lined "Safe Zone" pocket on top for sunglasses and smartphones". The purple image was similar but without the safe zone pocket. The black image was different still.
I used the CHAT feature to inquire about which image was correct. The images make it look like each color is made differently...
"Daisy" told me, "The color that coordinates with the picture is how the pockets will be as well. She offered to ask a product specialist but it would take several business days. I wanted to purchase it before the discount expired at midnight. So I bought the yellow and the plum--both 13L and an 18L in gray.
Well, DAISY WAS WRONG. Only the 18L had the Safety Zone pocket. But it is too big. The 13L has two little openings shown with little flags on the right side of the front. I looks like these 1/2 inch slots were for charging wires or ear plugs to connect to a device inside the side-entry zip pocket on main pack body. But these two slots only go as deep as the lining. You cannot connect anything through these little holes into the pocket--unless you cut a hole in the lining. It's like these backpacks were defective and Thule sent them to STP to get rid of them.
At this time I am returning the gray 18L and the yellow 13L and keeping the plum 13L unless I find something better. Good luck.
