these are great shoes. Timberland has great products all around and you can always expect a standard of quality when purchasing their footwear.

Unfortunately, I listened to earlier reviewers and heeded their warning concerning size, so I ordered an 11.5 instead of 12. And yep, the boots were too tight. I've since reordered 12's(my true size) and now they fit fine. As for the boots themselves, I think they look spectacular--clean styling, quality construction, durable material, and no clunky soles to be found anywhere(I hate them something awful). There's a fine line between hiking boots and fashion boots, and I think these stand squarely on the latter side of that line. A good thing. Comfort is a slightly mixed bag: Mostly great except for at the back of the toe box where it is a touch tight. I suspect(hope) they will loosen after some toe time.

Trying to replace a pair of Timberlands from 1992 that have a worn-out sole. Unfortunately, these are worse cushioning for the foot than my old pair. Timberland makes a big deal about the cushioning, even with a keyfob-size sample of the "cones", but when worn I find it's hype. I walk a few miles a day on concrete sidewalks.

The other parts of the shoe are very comfortable from new. Requires no break-in period.

Nice boot for casual wear. But too narrow fit for my narrow feet. This boot is not for folks with wide feet.

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
