Plenty of room for what I need without too much bulk. Replacing a similar Timberline wallet that wore.

  • Not the quality I expect from Timberland
Reviewed by Avid roadie from New York on Saturday, December 26, 2015
I've been buying, using and enjoying Timberland products for many years - wallets, bags, jackets, coats and shoes. Most of these have been leather, given I once saw Timberland as a quality maker, from leather quality to finish and the products help up well. My earlier purchases in the 1990's were at higher prices and perhaps a higher quality level.

Time changes and being realistic, I expected with lower prices and outsourcing, the quality would would be somewhat compromised. In recent years, this has been the case, but the value was still there - still very fair quality at the new lower price points. As such, still 4 star reviews.

About 3 years ago, I purchased a Timberland wallet similar to these at Sierra, but from a New York store/chain. As with Sierra with 35% off, the price was under $15. After years, it was still fine but looked worn from use, so decided to get another Timberland wallet from Sierra.

    But...
After a few months of use, the leather wore horribly and the stitching was coming undone.
In fact, it looked worse than the wallet bought at the NY shop years before, and used daily, so I went back to the old wallet. I actually wonder if this is real Timberland and just bought another at the same NY shop for $14.

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
