I really liked the looks of this shoe and needed some black ballet flats that weren't completely uncomfortable. Honestly, I haven't made my mind up about these. I may need to put a heel insert in, not because it rubs my heel (as I have read in many reviews on another website), but because it's just a touch too long. They don't slip off my feet, but I can foresee them slipping due to the leather stretching some and allowing more play inside the shoe. I wear an 8 in dress shoes usually, and an 8.5 in athletic shoes, but after reading so many reviews saying these ran small I ordered the 8.5. I'd love to try one smaller, but the toe box is just a touch snug, as well. I'm not sure if it could be fixed with a shoe stretcher. I'm of two minds, as my brit brother in law would say... Now I know why this shoe gets such a wide variation of reviews.

So bad at the front and the back where the patterns change so I have to return it.

Question & Answer

About Timberland

The Timberland footwear brand was officially launched in 1973, more than two decades after founder Nathan Swartz bought an interest in an established shoe company. Eight years earlier, the Swartz family had introduced injection-molding technology to the footwear industry. Today, this revolutionary manufacturing process is still being used to fuse the soles and uppers of Timberland boots without stitching, a process that allows for truly waterproof boots. Over the years, Timberland shoes and boots have continued to advance, incorporating modern features like Active Comfort Technology to provide a balance of cushioning, support and climate control. In 2008, Timberland also became the first footwear company to commercialize the use of rubber from recycled tires.
