5.0 out of 5 stars. Roomy and Locked OnVerified Buyer Reviewed by Angstrom27 from Tucson, AZ on Tuesday, July 10, 2018Love Altras, but finding they feel a little sloppy and they keep changing the build and fit of my favorite shoes... A friend turned me on to Topo Athletic and they are an impressive fit... Toe box is roomy enough for toe splay, mid foot and ankle are locked on, and with 2mm drop, these feel like a homerun on the rocky technical trails I run. They feel a bit firm out of the box, but have already broke in with about 20mi of running/walking in them. No input on durability and fit is 1/2 size smaller than normal on the 1st gen Runventures above. I am a size 10 in almost all, but went with a 10.5 in the RV and they're spot on. STP had these at the crazy price of like $37, so I bought a few pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great Shoes!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Pennsylvania on Thursday, June 28, 2018This is my first pair of trail shoes and I couldn’t be happier. They’re incredibly comfortable and after the very first mile or so there were no issues.
The wide toe box keeps my feet from feeling cramped as runs progress. The grip has kept me upright and on two feet numerous times over rocks, roots, trees, and mud. It’s a very responsive shoe and lets me feel where I’m running, without banging up my feet due to lack of cushion or protection.
I look forward to running. These into the ground and getting another pair down the road. -

4.0 out of 5 stars. comfortable, light and low drop, Euro sizing is different than normalVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from Galilee - Israel on Tuesday, June 19, 2018I had one training session in these shoes, gym workout with a 2K tread-meal run prior.
Overall these are comfortable, great structure with a wide toe box and just right in terms of holding the mid-foot and heel. The shoes are light and offer good cushioning for when you don't wan't a complete minimalist shoe.
The only downside - and that's partly my fault - is the the Euro sizing is a bit different than normally in other brands. A US size 10 is usually a Euro size 43, in Topo it's US10=Euro44.
I went with the reviews here on STP and went half a size up from my regular US10 size... So I ended up with a size 44.5 shoe instead of a 43.5. it's not to bad and I was still able to run and train with them with comfort.
*I shipped these to Israel so can't make a return and exchange. It's partly "my fault" as on the Topo website their size chart does state a US10 as Eur44, I'm always a US10 which correlates to Eur43, so didn't think of checking.
Take note to this sizing issue when ordering. Overall and for this price, I recommend getting a pair! -
4.0 out of 5 stars. Light solid performerVerified Buyer Reviewed by Mark from Idaho on Monday, June 18, 2018I got this shoe, not for trail running, but just as a lightweight walking shoe. It fits well and I think will serve my interests. I was surprised to note that the top area by the toe is basically a see-through mesh. Time will tell how that will hold up.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Great hiker as wellVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from California on Sunday, June 10, 2018I bought these shoes because I was looking for a light trail runner/hiker to do Mt. Whitney in. The past few years I have definitely subscribed to using trail runners for big hikes because of their weight. I had tried on a pair of Altra Lone Peak 3.5 at REI and really liked them. They were going to be $89 after one of their 20% off sales and I just didn't want to spend that much with all the other things I was buying for the trip to Lone Pine (doing some climbing in the area as well). When I found the Topo Runventures for $49, I figured they looked very similar and should give them a try. Right out of the box, these things were awesome! I did a warm up hike at Kaiser peak the next day which is 10.5 miles RT with 3,000ft elevation gain. I also wore my 30lb pack with everything I need for Whitney (I've done Whitney before from the regular route but this time I'm going for the Mountaineer's Route). I am really impressed by how comfortable these shoes are while carrying a load. Super comfortable and supportive on the way down as well. I've definitely had bigtime discomfort with regular hiking boots as soon as I start heading down mountains. These shoes really helped keep my foot in place and not pushing my toes in the front. I am super excited to do Whitney next week knowing my feet will not be an issue.

4.0 out of 5 stars. Great but smallVerified Buyer Reviewed by Jeff from ME on Wednesday, June 6, 2018I normally wear 11 and the pair of 11's I received were a 1/2 sugar too small, but everything else about the sites were exactly what I wanted. I ordered 2 pair of the 11.5's and plan on running twice as long??
