Not impressed

I'm an avid backpacker. I was looking for a replacement for my White Sierra Trabagon Rain Jacket, which has served me quite well for a couple of years. This appeared to fit the bill, until I got it. First, I'm of a mind to think this is a women's jacket labeled 'for men and women; it's 'female' sided -- the main zipper pull is on the left. Normally not a big deal, but it's not what I'm used it and it could be a major PITA if I needed to get it on quickly. Also, none of the pockets don't have any means of draining -- they're sewed up tight as a rain fly. They will get filled with water and dirt, and you'd have to turn them inside out to clean them. One of the grommets came off of the armpits. I'm 5' 8", 132 pounds and the small was really big. I got the green. It's GREEN! Wow, it's green. This is by no means technical gear. Perhaps something to throw in the car or commuter pack, but I wouldn't trust it in the sticks. In the final analysis, if you want a jacket that might last a season around town, go for it. But if you're looking for something for the sticks, move along. Oh, yeah, this one and the one I got for my fiance are going back.
