Good looking trail shoes that make your feet look smaller

At least that's what a friend commented when she saw me wearing these. When ordering shoes online I try to go with whatever US size corresponds to my Euro size because the Euro sizing seems to be more consistent across shoe makers. I ordered an 8.5 because according to a Trezeta size guide I found online 8.5 was supposed to equate to a Euro 39. When the shoes arrived, however, US 8.5 is actually an EU 40. Fortunately the shoe still fits fine (e.g., no heel slippage) and would allow for a thicker sock if needed. I found the shoes to be comfortable right out of the box, with one exception -- the collar of the shoes are a little stiff. I believe they will relax a little after a few more wears. If the collar was any higher, though, I would have returned these shoes because the collar would have dug into the underside of my right ankle bone. Due to the type of laces that come with the shoes and previous experience with a similar type, initially I was concerned whether or not the laces would remain tied. They did indeed remain tied for the duration of the day I wore the shoes. The toe box is roomy enough to allow for swelling on hot days, and I like the design and grippy-ness of the sole. The gusset on the tongue is just enough fabric to do the job but not so much that it will bunch and cause uncomfortable and uneven pain on the top of your foot when the shoes are tied. I'm only giving 4 stars because I haven't had the chance to test the waterproof feature.
