My second pair….3rd for a friend!

Just a great boot for the price! I bought a pair for a work boot and after vinyl siding a house with them I had to buy another pair just for the cold rainy days too. They look great, fit to size and fit great too. Break in was not even noticeable. They are light and tough. What can I say?! For the p... Read More

  • Very Heavy
Verified Buyer Reviewed by ~J from TN on Monday, May 14, 2018
My husband ended up sending these back. He is use to wearing tennis shoes. These run about a half size too big, but seemed to be nice boots. However, the weight of the boot was just too heavy for him to adjust to. He ended up getting a different brand in a low top hiking shoe. It is more comparable to a tennis shoe.
  • True to size

I very recently bought a pair of these hiking shoes to go on a trip. When I bought them I read a review that they tended to be a little big for size. I can tell you from experience that that is NOT true. They are exactly sized. I typically wear a 9-1/2 to 10 depending on the footwear. I bought a 9-1/2 and they fit exactly to the point of slightly small or snug. 20-20 hind sight I should have bought a 10 and worn 2 pair of socks to make up the difference. Quality wise, they are what I was expecting. I am not an avid hiker but want to start getting out more. These fit that bill.
  • Good boot!

I thought I'd give these a shot after purchasing some Asolos five months ago. Love the Asolos, not a fan of their prices. Construction on these looked similar and I'm a big believer in capped toe on these. They arrived yesterday and spent the day breaking them in on the AT. Fit well out of the box and I can already tell they won't be difficult to break in at all. I was going to call it quits after four miles, because I expected some hot spots, but they were doing so well I just kept trucking for another.seven miles. No blisters, no hot spots, the soles are excellent, and the boot is as light as my Asolos. Only reason I can't give five stars is a missing lace loop on the tongues and I can't vouch for durability yet.

Solid boot for the price and I'd say it's near Asolo quality.
  • Bad Soles . . .
Reviewed by AZ_Hiker from Flagstaff on Friday, May 4, 2018
The pair that I received had a large bulging protrusion of the sole at the toe on one boot and the out sole was detached from the midsole at the ball of foot on the other. It was glued around the edges, but you could feel a noticeable gap between outsole and midsole. I expect that STP got a batch of these that are not closeouts but seconds. And very bad seconds at that. Returned. Do not recommend.
  • Not impressed

Took a chance on these. Sole is extremely flimsy and easily bent. Every rock is noticeable. Upper is painfully stiff around the ankle/calf - might get better with break-in.

I do wonder if the soles in the pair I tried were defective - it felt not much better than a flip-flop sole.

These might work in terrain where most hiking is on packed dirt. I would not recommend them in rocky terrain.

    They look nice, though.
