Well engineered, compact and easy to pack

    The plastic on the bottom is rounded instead of coming to a sharp edge. The only metal on the bottom are the toe crampons + 6 short spikes. It didn't look like it had the traction on snow with an icy crust that I was looking for, so I returned them. The binding takes the guess work out of foot placement. The plastic is heavy gauge & looks durable.

    The photo and desciption on this item do not match. The shoes are not the "Grip Escape" with the lateral grip rails as descibed. They have the 6 small crampon points instead. Nowhere in the product documentation that came with the shoes does the phrase "Grip Escape" exist. If you are looking for a moderate level snowshoe, these are great. They are well made with an excellent binding. But if you are looking for snowshoes for climbing you should order something with gripping rails on the bottoms.

    Easy to use, very secure on the foot. Worked well trecking up to Mt Bogong in the snow. Great traction and not to wide to have to take a wide step.
