not soft at all

I bought this as a gift for my wife, before I gave it to her, I opened the package to feel the material. What a surprise, not soft at all. the texture feels alomost grainy and scratchy. I thought turkish cotton was suppose to be soft as egyptian strand cotton but they either didnt bother to comb it before making into thread or it is really inferior short strand cotton being passed off as Turkish. I sell mens intimates specializing in cotton variety and this stuff feels as cheap as a pima cotton jersey only its not as soft as it. Took a chance on this one because I didnt know its country of origin,(yes this is important, where its made determines its quality, not every country can import the best materials.) most other people reviewed this and said it was soft, I must be spoiled in this department because this feels like sand paper to me. Cotton strands that are short will have their ends curled out when spun into thread. its these little ends that poke and scratch as it rubs against you, its also the reason for pilling after washing and thread seperation. save your money and buy a robe you can see and feel first.
