Good design. Well thought out. Seems like it will be durable enough for many years of use. Only negative would be that they didn't put accessory pockets on the waist straps.

the aluminum stay is very functional and fits perfectly to my lumbar spine ; ventilation keeps the lumbar area very dry. I thought I would try it and if I did not like it remove the aluminum stay but it is very functional and lightweight. There are plenty of bells and whistles for fishing gear as well as storage ample space. I also use it for long hikes which requires more water than fishing; the depth of the water holder could have been a little larger for the bigger bottles. I have not found the shoulder strap necessary yet because the fit is so good.

Picked up one of these for streamer fishing as it accommodates larger boxes. Carry two Cliff's [...] Barns plus all the other odds and ends I need for a day on the water. Will also fit a small light extra layer, camera and water bottle.

About Umpqua Feather Merchants

Dennis Black, the founder of Umpqua Feather Merchants, realized way back in 1972 that demand for his expertly tied fishing flies would quickly surpass his ability to create them in sufficient supply. After enlisting some of the best fly-tiers in the industry to help set Umpqua flies’ standard of excellence, Black established the first of five separate fly-tying factories with a focus on producing the best flies constructed using top-tier materials. Today, Umpqua now has factories in Sri Lanka and Thailand, both faithfully reproducing time-tested patterns and introducing promising new patterns year after year. When you fish with Umpqua flies, you’re fishing with one of the best names in the industry.
