I used these hiking boots during a backpacking trip in the Rocky Mountains. The boots exceeded my expectations in terms of comfortability- I didn't get a chance to break them in before the trip but didn't get any blisters. My feet are wide and my shoe size ranges from a 7 - 8, I ordered a 7.5 and my... Read More

Reviewed by the by hand doer from North Dakota on Sunday, December 29, 2013Size Medium. Exergetic North Dakotan winter walker .Vasque and Vibram. Waterproof and good lace locks. My feet carry no extra fat and the fit is perfection.
Reviewed by Hiker enthusiast from Virginia on Thursday, December 5, 2013Got these because it's a good brand and the price tag helps. It's true to size and good for those with narrow feet. The color in the pic is greenish but the shoes are actually grey. It's not a big deal though.
Reviewed by Jake from LA on Monday, October 21, 2013I had something similar for which I paid twice the price. I'm not crazy about the color combination but it's worth it to me for the value. I've had two other pairs of Vasque and I haven't had any problems.
Reviewed by Happy Hiker from MA on Monday, September 2, 2013My feet are not easy to fit. Bunions, high instep, in between a 7.5 and 8. And I am a hiker. These Vasque boots are as close to ideal as it gets. They need virtually no breaking in. They hold my ankles stable. And they are supremely comfortable. I believe they run very slightly on the short side, as the 8 just gives me enough wiggle room with medium-weight socks.
Reviewed by raindanceATX from Texas on Thursday, August 29, 2013Delivery: I received them only 3 business days after I ordered them.
I tried them during a 2.5 hour hiking on a somewhat rugged route.
The sole was thick enough so that my feet didn't feel the small rocks on the road and they weren't as heavy as I thought would be.
But it could use more cushion on the toe part. It was a bit hard so around 2 hours into the hiking, my toes were hurting.
I'll probably get a pair of insoles before I go on a longer hiking.
Overall, I think these are good quality hiking shoes for the money.

“Hi these are great boots for the rockys in Canada where I have been wearing them for the last year. I am going to New Zealand to hike Milford Sound in Jan where it will be very wet - similar to the West Coast TRail on Vancouver Island. Do I need boots with more waterproofing then these have or will these do? BTW I have very high arches and these are the best boots I have ever had. Idid get custom foot beds for them which helps.”
They should be fine.
They would be enough boot for a 3-4 day backpacking trip.
“Wow, the ones I ordered ran WAY small, and did not even match the sizing last of the ones I tried on at a local sports store. Are you getting more in larger sizes?? 7.5 and 8??”
Currently we do not have any of the Vasque Breeze Gore-Tex® XCR® Hiking Boots on order. Sorry for the inconvenience.
“Is this shoe true to size? I usually take a 7.5 B but tried on a 7.5 W that was comfortable but seemed a bit too wide. I worry that W would be too wide, and see that others say the boot runs small. I don't want to ship back a boot this heavy.”
According to our fit guides the Vasque Breeze Gore-Tex® XCR® Hiking Boots are running true to size. I would recommend that you order a 7.5 M.
This is a good traction shoe, though there may be little slippage on ice as almost shoes do. It may pick up some mud but will knock out easily as you walk.
