Verified Buyer Reviewed by KJ from Ca on Sunday, March 8, 2015Really liked green color. Good back pack. New to pack backing so ordered wrong size-kept this for an emergency bag in case of fires/need to evacuate. Gives peace of mind knowing in an emergency you can grab backpack & be out of house in one minute, as well as knowing the bag isn't to heavy to lift or too bulky. My only compliant is outside pocket didn't zip shut. Has a snap so really easy to slide hand in & get what is needed. Items don't fall out. I just prefer a zipper.
Reviewed by MC from New Mexico on Tuesday, February 10, 2015Lightweight, well ventilated, adjustable straps in a pack roomy enough for an overnight or two if you pack light, or a long day hike winter or summer. Quality of Vaude products is excellent. Top loading, with zippered shelf to separate bottom area from top. External zipper access to bottom of pack. Includes an orange rain cover in its own pocket. Roomy side pockets and a stretchy back flap/pocket to secure quick access items such as food, a jacket, etc. Compression straps at sides are also handy for holding skis or snowshoes. Ice axe loops at each bottom corner would also be handy for storing trekking poles when not in use. Hydration pocket with loop hanger inside (no tube hole; drinking tube must exit at corner of top pocket.) elastic loops on shoulder straps to secure drinking hose. Top pocket has separate net pocket inside. Top pocket is NOT floating; it is sewn at the top of the shoulder straps, so stacking things on top of the loaded pack and tying them down with the straps from the top pocket is somewhat limited to what will fit (for example a foam pad would be OK)
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Redriverrogue from Northern Kentucky on Sunday, February 3, 2013Overall, a very well built pack with good features. As soon as I opened e box, I realized it has no bottle holders, and considered returning it because of this oversight. I decided in the end to keep it and go to a hydration bladder for a few reasons:
1. Expandable side pockets are very large when expanded
2. Lightweight design
3. Excellent ventilation
The compass/whistle is gimmicky and was immediately given to a young man that seemed to really like it (8 y.o.). Overall I am very happy with the pack so far.
