5.0 out of 5 stars. Great classic bootsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Hops77 from Maine on Monday, July 13, 2020I have been looking for a classic all leather boot that isn’t either a wannabe hiking boot or $400 mountaineering boot. These are perfect. I have flat feet that are on the narrow side and these work well. Heel fits comfortably and the toe box has room. They are also relatively light for this style boot. So far, so good. They will need some time to break in but I am impressed for being under $200.

5.0 out of 5 stars. The Nubuck version is not NWVerified Buyer Reviewed by Trail Bum from Massachusetts on Saturday, June 27, 2020I'm a big fan of Alico Summit and Tahoe and have few of them. Just be aware that unlike the Full Grain Leather model, the Nubuck model is not Norwegian Welt. The Norwegian Welt has 2 rows of stitching, one connects the upper to the welt and one connects the welt to the soles. the Nubuck model is Goodyear welt with only 1 row of stitching. Other than that, they are good boots, but if you want NW get the full grain model.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Size IssuesReviewed by Frustrated ex employee from Nevada on Tuesday, March 10, 2020I have tried to purchase these boots in a 2E width several times. Each time they send a boot in Wide. Sierra's added tag says 2E the box's original label says W. I am an ex employee and have tried to communicate to Sierra that they are advertising a 2E wide boot and delivering a wide boot.

1.0 out of 5 stars. Very disappointedVerified Buyer Reviewed by Wondering Wanderer from Tennessee on Friday, February 21, 2020The boot looked great. However, the right sole was warped causing an uneven foot fall. Will not try another pair.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Italian CraftsmanshipVerified Buyer Reviewed by Ron from Georgia on Wednesday, January 29, 2020I've owned many pairs of boots in my life but these are the very best. The leather is perfect, not hard and not soft. The Norwegian-Welt Construction will last for many years and I wear these around the house because they feel so good. The shank keeps your step in the right direction and you walk more easily. They are a very well made boot.

5.0 out of 5 stars. Outstanding boots for the priceVerified Buyer Reviewed by Marty G from Fort Collins, Colorado on Sunday, January 26, 2020I've owned a pair of these, in the full-grain brown leather, for a while---I can't remember when I bought them, but they were fully resoled more than once. The midsoles are starting to crack and let water leak in, so I bought a new pair. Sadly the full-grain brown wasn't available in my size, so I went with the grey Perwanger. We'll see if it holds up as well as the old pair.
One issue I had (due probably to the shape of my feet) is that I rather quickly wore holes in the liners right behind my heel, where the leather and cloth meet inside the back of the boots. My local shoe repair joint installed leather heel liners to fix that. In the new boots, I'm having them install the liners before I start wearing them.
Aside from that problem, the boots held up well over years of all-season use. Once broken-in they were quite comfortable, and offered a good balance of weight, support, and protection. For leather care I used Obenauf's Heavy Duty LP. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Italian CraftsmanshipReviewed by Ron from Georgia on Wednesday, January 22, 2020Wow, being Italian, these are the first pair of boots I have ever owned. You sure can tell the difference between these great boots crafted in the Dolomite Mountains and all the other brands made elsewhere. These fit like a glove and are very comfortable right out of the box. I put good leather oil on them to help break them in a little quicker....They fit so well that the break in period will be a couple days or so......that's it! The leather, stitching and insoles are fantastic, very comfortable. I really like how they support your ankles when walking and they feel very good on your feet. I'm so glad I bought these and I'm sure they will not the only pair of Alico's I will own. Try a pair, you won't be sorry.....

3.0 out of 5 stars. Good with one flawReviewed by Northern Twin Dad from Maine on Monday, January 13, 2020I've had these boots for a little over 2 years. The leather is sturdy and thick. I've beaten the **** out of these boots, scuffing them badly; a little wax and they look great again.
Water-resistant is about right. Walk through a couple of puddles and you'll be fine. Walk out in wet conditions for more than half an hour and the water will start to come in.
Here's the flaw: The D-rings on these boots eat shoelaces. So the eyelets should be polished smooth, but they have edges on them. It's not super noticeable, but shoelaces (even when I got the 'THEY LAST FOREVER KEVLAR" ones on Amazon) start to abrade after a few months. Going to see if a cobbler can fix them up. That said, I got a pretty good deal on them, and if I can fix that one issue, I'll likely get a decade out of them. -
5.0 out of 5 stars. Ordered Tahoes, got Summits, kept SummitsVerified Buyer Reviewed by Anonymous from West Slope Colorado on Sunday, January 12, 2020After much experience and increasing disgust with lack of durability of the newer lightweight, disposable boots that have overrun the market, I thought I try the old style leather, resoleable Norwegian welt boots again.
I ordered the Tahoes, but received the next model up, the Summits instead. I kept the Summits and paid the difference to Sierra, despite the four and quarter pound weight for the additional support. They are terrific winter, backpacking and/or off-trail boots, with the real Vibram soles, wonderful leather, minimal seams, and easily and reliably waterproofed at home with SnoSeal or similar products.
If they last me the decade that I think they will, the cost will be 20% of the four pair of disposable boots that would have ended up in the landfill over that same decade. -
