5.0 out of 5 stars. This is an awesome purchase

Took this camping (first time user) in Parker AZ where it was WINDY all weekend on the river. Thunderstorms and wind that blew tents and other canopies away. Ours withstood. Awesome purchase!

  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Huge

This is great. It’s huge and I like the sun shades that can move to two sides.
  • 5.0 out of 5 stars. Sturdy!

This is the second one I’ve bought. I use it like a patio /sun screen all summer long and it stands up to heavy rain and winds very well.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Great Shade, Poles not durable
Reviewed by Roman from Utah on Monday, July 15, 2019
Got the shade for a few days out in the desert last month. Put it together and it has a great foot print, the thing is huge and my buddy who is 6'4 could stand in it comfortably. After 3 days in the desert with 10-20mph wind one of the sides started to keel over a bit. I broke the shade down and saw that one of the poles had 2 segments completely split... hence not a perfect rating. I was bummed as i had a trip to pnw coming up. I emailed ALPS directly, told them what happened and they sent a new pole with in 3 days. Absolutely incredible customer service. Tent is not as hard to set up as some reviews say, and for the price it holds up to the elements much better than equally priced easy up pop ups. I hope the pole last but def a great investment.
  • 3.0 out of 5 stars. Large cover

Good cover but fiddly to set up. Unlike modern tents that use clips, this has sleeves which are hard to thread if there is any moisture. Worse, the fiberglass poles slip out of the shock cording which again makes it difficult to thread in the sleeves. Take down is almost as hard as set-up for the same reasons. But, once up it is a wonderfully large covered space with stakes and guylines to anchor it. I wish the shock cording was tighter as the poles come undone very easily. Also, it would be lighter if they were aluminum instead of fiberglass, plus they would be more break resistant.
  • 4.0 out of 5 stars. Very good sunshade
Reviewed by M_Rose from N.Ca. on Thursday, July 4, 2019
We have taken it to the beach for the last three years and its' great to sit under all day with even gusty afternoon breezes. My wife and I , with some camping experience, can get it set up and taken down in minutes, even in the wind. A few upgrades- like real sand pegs- not the flimsy ones in the bag -are necessary, along with sand filled grocery bags over the guy line stakes. We have found that sand gets in the grommets and makes it hard to release them, so sanding the pin end diameter down and using fresh water as a lubricant has worked for us.
