Soft and perfect fit if you size down. They run on the large side and are perhaps a little long for some people but I consider the mediums to be a perfect fit at 5'10" and 190lbs.. I have three pairs now and they look great and feel great in addition to making you look slimmer than you are. One of the best bargains at Sierra Trading Post. You won't find anything better for under $100 anywhere so these are a steal. Buy one before I buy them out! Just remember if you are on the borderline SIZE DOWN! The picture in the item description is a very accurate depiction of how the Medium looks on me.
