Having really large calves, the shorter shaft was great, they fit me well in the legs. They look much more distressed in person, and I didn't like them as well as I did the pictures. The biggest thing was that the foot bed had virtually no support, and combined with a leather sole, they're not comfortable for even just trying them on. I returned them.
