They are a little bulkier, a little wider, and a little thicker than my preference. That may reflect that I bought several different socks at the same time, some of which had the technical thickening and thinning of the wool at the right spots and one pair was asymmetrical (right and left foot). These are just your typical SmartWool socks, nothing wrong with them.
