They provide a very thin underlayer. Silk adjusts, so the cami keeps me from freezing indoors with a/c during the summer without overheating me outdoors. in the winter, they give me that extra layer of protection. Sadly, the item now seems to be discontinued. I bought a large supply while they're still on the website.
