Lightweight and sturdy and great for big game hunting.

I hunt in rugged, steep terrain, with a severe trip and fall hazard every step of the way. I also find myself in tangles and negotiating through dead-falls, especially since the Southern Pine Bark Beetle scourge. What is really handy with this cane, other than stepping over a million logs and an ocean of downed thrash, is that in sitting of kneeling position, it doubles as a dandy rifle and shotgun rest for big game and turkey. It actually helps me stalk through the forest much more quietly. It is light and the grip is very comfortable with the ability to change many handholds to reduce fatigue. A hiking staff is too long and difficult to negotiate through the thick stuff, so this cane is really suited for my needs. The Komperdell Walker Cane is extremely useful when crossing under dead falls and brush and regaining an upright posture. It's a real lower back saver and helps reduce fatigue in this sense. I don't go into the forest, mountains and gorges without it.
