Reviewed by Ham Hands from Colorado on Sunday, December 20, 2015We've invested in quite a few West Paw items for our labs including the disk, tug toy and this ball. After a year of use, none have been damaged, a record for dogs that spend hours chewing, tugging and tearing at anything they can sink their teeth into. Our normal chew toy is a 2 foot 2x4 that will last 4 days. This ball is well designed. It's about the size of a baseball, pretty heavy and bounces well, but unpredictably due to it's shape. It's not uncommon for my two labs and my daughter's to toss and chase it across the floor. What a great way to distress any wood floor! We purchased our 1st ball after enjoying multiple West Paw disks and tug toys. My 18 month old pup knew "her toy" was in the box the minute it came in the door. She whined until we opened it. I've purchased a couple disks to replace other brands that my dog has destroyed when visiting relatives/friends. The only down side is the toys are petty solid and not fun to step on in a dark room. They also don't clean up dog hair...
Verified Buyer Reviewed by Wyoflygirl from Wyoming on Friday, October 30, 2015I have a 7 month old GWP who isn't really destructive, just a bit hard on toys because of his size and strength. This ball is made of such heavy-duty material that I expect it to last for quite some time. It's a bit heavy to be tossed around inside unless you're careful. Good STP price for a high quality toy.
Verified Buyer Reviewed by HerdingDogRescuer from West of Mizurah on Thursday, October 15, 2015I got this due to all the positive reviews. My dog, who loves to chew and destroy, played with it for about 2 minutes total. I think it was too big and too hard for him. He's a 60 lb Catahoula and had trouble getting it in his mouth. May work for another dog, but not mine unfortunately.

No, it's a very large ball. Way too big for my pitbulls to swallow. It does have a groove on each side or grip or whatever it's purpose is.
No, but it is very large. It is hard to imagine a dog choking on it.
Smaller than a pencil lead, there are two small holes. No way could a tongue get in.It is big and heavy and my destructo dog hasn't marred it.
The ball is solid without holes. My dogs love it and it holds up to rough use from big dogs.
Nope, no holes. I do recommend not letting your dog chew on this alone. It is soft and I am sure is fun to chomp on. An aggressively strong cheese will destroy it into little dangerous bits. It does have grooves for little mouths to grip, and bounces wonky. It floats and is 100% recyclable.
I recommend it as an interactive toy.
