I wore tights under them and stayed warm and dry, but not too hot, all morning. They fit well over my ski boots and have sizable pockets with zippers for money, phone, etc. I do wish the back rise were a bit higher--I skidded down part of the hill and got a bunch of snow up my back, but that's probably more my fault than the pants.
