Jacket great, color not as depicted

I bought this jacket after seeing the one my friend has, and although it has not been cold or rainy enough to wear it yet, I know I will love it because it is so lightweight (takes no room in a pack while hiking) and still is waterproof.

My friend's jacket is the light blue-purple (called Sapphire), and that color looks exactly like the picture on the website. However, when I ordered the color called Waterfall, I was disappointed that the actual color is significantly darker than its photo on the website. That is why I give it 4 stars instead of 5.

I know computers vary in how they show colors, but if the Sapphire color can be portrayed accurately, why not all the colors? Actually, Sapphire is a different hue from computer to tablet, but both are light colors. Waterfall is a different hue on tablet and computer, also, and both are light colors. But the jacket is a darker color.

This is a common problem. I had just returned a jacket from another company because their depiction of the color differed from tablet to computer to catalog; I took the gamble that it would be the one I liked or the 2nd best, but I lost - it was the one I least liked, and the paper catalog did not have the accurate color.

I think companies should take more care to represent the clothing colors accurately on all forms of media. Since it happened to me twice, I am now more reluctant to order online, and more likely to shop in a store where I can see the color.

I sent this review from my other email address, since I could not use this one when I ordered it.
