Repels wind and rain

It feels good on, repels wind and rain and breathes well in the tests I have given it - biking and walking. Your regular size will be plenty big to layer over whatever you use for insulation. Really happy with it and am going to take it on my Pacific Crest Trail thru-hike this year. There is one big complaint though - well 2 - both involving the zipper. 1) It zips from the wrong side. I know, there used to be a girl side and a boy side but I haven't run into the girl side problem for a LONG time. This zips from the girl side, left handed rather than right handed. If you are left handed maybe you will like that. 2) the zipper gets caught REALLY easily. The fabric is soooo flexible, which is a good thing, that it just slips right on under the zipper like butter, which is a bad thing.

Bottom line; It performs well for it's intended purpose but I can see it driving me round the bend at some point in the future.
