I bought these pants as a lightweight rain pant for work. Something I could slip on in the field and not worry about tearing or abusing. I work outside in natural resource management. They seem nice, not too bulky, waterproof, and easy to pack away in a pack or keep in the pickup. They are not very breathable and they do not have a lining, so I think they would be better for backup rainwear rather than for winter activities. However, for the price they really can't be beat as a backup set. They only thing I don't like is they do not have an ankle zipper to make it easier to slip on over boots.
