These are my first rain pants. I walk my dog every day, rain or shine, and was tired of coming home with soaked legs. But I wasn't sure what features or styles I would find useful. I chose these pants because they were waterproof, were priced so low, and because reviewers found them short. I'm 5'2" and overweight, so I got XL, and they fit over my bulkiest sweatpants. And they kept me dry! The one front pocket is in an awkward position at about knee level, but maybe this works for wearing with a long parka? It zips; the back pocket closes with a hook-and-loop (Velcro-like) spot. The ankles can be closed up with snaps. They are lightweight, really just a rain shell, so they'll work over a variety of under-layers. And did I mention, they kept me dry? We have a month of freezing rain ahead (it's called November) and I'm looking forward to my walks in these. But the price was definitely a factor; I'm not sure they'd win if they had been full retail.
