I now only buy Expedition weight. The 'lower weight' fabrics are simply thinner and not as twilled, and end up weighing the same anyway, just aren't as warm. Use these as a thermal layer when sleeping - the highest warmth to weight ratio i have found in any synthetic. They wick moisture even when i'm highly active. Comfortable enough as a base-layer.
Cheap, but durable. They weigh about 300grams, which is about the same as the Expedition tops. Craftsmanship is rather ordinary, but they are base layers and rarely seen, and they do perform.
