Most Helpful 5-Star Review
As expected from WoolrichVerified Buyer Reviewed by The Minnesota Mailman from Minnesota on Wednesday, February 21, 2018My first jacket/coat from Woolrich. My expectations were high based on other Woolrich items I own. This was purchased for around town use and I've already received several compliments on it. It fits as expected. I ordered it a little roomy to allow a fleece jacket to be worn under it on cold days. The sleeves are plenty long which was a concern as I usually wear a long size or order a size larger just for arm length. The lining does stand out where it is visible in the hood but it renders the wool lining to be not itchy. Overall I am very happy with this jacket. Five stars!
Great JacketReviewed by UPoutdoors from Upper Peninsula of MI on Saturday, January 13, 2018Great jacket for the price. Not bulky but very warm for the UP winters. Had rain right after I got it and it shed the rain great and the hood is one of the best I have had. Definitely well worth the price!
Nice CoatVerified Buyer Reviewed by Kim the former Alaskan from Iowa on Sunday, December 17, 2017I'm very pleased with the coat. Wore bell ringing and stayed warm through the whole shift. Another rating was concerned about the storm-flaps interfering with the zipper. Not sure what the problem is. I have/had a number of coats with storm flaps and they all get caught in the zipper. Nothing a little care can't avoid. I was pleased to find a metal zipper. In recent years seems I'm always paying someone to replace the plastic zippers, I think this one will last. I bought a size larger based on the review that said they run small. Glad I did. The larger size fits perfectly.
Decent, some nigglesReviewed by Florian Geyer from 404 on Wednesday, November 8, 2017Overall construction quality is good, offers more warmth than I expected from the weight/thickness, sheds rain well. The fit is roomy, easily accommodating extra layers for colder months. If you don't plan to layer, you might try a size down from your normal. I use it as a barn coat in cold and wet days, for which it's well-suited. Once the real winter hits here in New England though, it needs those extra layers, or a change to a heftier coat.
My main gripe is the tab of fabric behind the top of the zipper, presumably to protect your throat, which constantly jams the zipper unless you're very careful both zipping and unzipping. This was just poor design; it needed to be made of a stiffer fabric, or set back further from the zipper, or something. Zipping it up to right below the tab isn't a great option either as it leaves a fairly wide space for frigid wind to get in. It's caused quite a few battles when trying to get out of the coat. Aside from that, the fabric also catches and shows dust pretty easily, which is why it's relegated to stall-cleaning duties.
