However, I'm glad I did. It is a heavy-weight shirt. The black color is very dark and somewhat shiny. It runs a bit large so I would downsize.

About the COLORS (though, it's hard to be fussy at this price, for this quality): "Black is black" - according to some people, but not me.
This black is the stark-black that goes wonderfully with bright-white and fuschia (and other colors/shades that I won't deliberately wear). For someone who prefers when all (chosen) clothes can work well together, this stark black is not good for the MINORITY of people (like me) who choose shades of colors that work well with ivory and taupe (rather than stark -white, etc.).
Could "live in this shirt." Wish it was available in more colors. At the price, I'd get more. Actually, with this tailoring, quality, comfort, etc., it's one item worth its retail price. (But, when do we pay retail?)
Small fit perfectly (thanks to your advice that this runs large, as, otherwise, I'd be between M & L). Has room for a thin layer underneath. Could even wear XS, If not wanting it as a mid-layering piece.
Shirt was so toasty, comfortable, and bargain-priced (especially, for its quality) that, regrettably, I'm returning it: ONLY because of the type of black. (In pants, I'd have broken rules and kept it, despite the shark-black, because of the price and other pros.)
If you need only serviceability of an otherwise excellent everyday shirt - and the colors and fit/sizing, are at least O.K. for you (or don't matter to you) - then, this shirt is too fine a value to overlook.
(If it were a lighter color, I'd even get it - with intent to dye it. Alas...)

Thank you to the prior reviewers since it helped me find a great fit with this shirt! I am a petite (5'1") and 130 pounds. The medium fits me very well including the length of the sleeves. The shirt isn't a petite -- but it's close to being a petite in terms of how it fits. The tails are a bit long but I like that. Beautiful material and construction. Usually, the medium Woolrich's are tight across the chest for me but this one isn't. A great buy.

It is a little boxy so if you are looking for a more fitted look , this isn't the shirt for you. I am 5'2" and 150lbs. I usually wear a L or XL. The XL was too big. The sleeves, however; were not too long. If you are tall or just have long arms, this may not be the shirt for you. I love the Woolrich quality but it was just too big through the midsection and waist. A large would have been too small through the chest/shoulders area. It has a little stretch to it as well. Wish it would have worked, just not a good fit.
