Woolrich Treverton wool throw - elkVerified Buyer Reviewed by mo from Portland on Thursday, February 9, 2017I bought this in the elk colorway and I wish I had ordered the moose as well! This is a lightweight wool blanket just big enough for one person. The elk colorway is a vibrant red elk against a dark grey background on one side and the reverse coloration on the other. I actually like the reverse side better! The wool is soft and warm and the price here can't be beat.
Amazing!Reviewed by NorthWoods Girl from Great Lakes on Thursday, February 2, 2017I purchased the moose throw and received it yesterday. I absolutely love it! The quality is fantastic and the pattern is beautiful!
Six stars!Verified Buyer Reviewed by TriciaGray from Central Pennsylvania on Tuesday, January 31, 2017If these had been offered before Christmas I would have bought them for everyone on my list! Made in USA, generous size, warm, adorable design and soft! I've had my eye on these ever since they were offered by another retailer at the "compare at" price. One of my best STP buys!
Woolrich Elk ThrowReviewed by Brenda from Story, WY on Tuesday, January 31, 2017Beautiful throw with reversible colors/pattern! I have ordered multiples for the men in the family and have them squirreled away for Christmas gifts. The quality is perfect for home but may also use for car, truck, ball games and camping. Trust Woolrich! Thank you for the great price, STP!
Beautiful throw--large, fairly light weight but still feel substantial & it is very warm!Verified Buyer Reviewed by Gloria from Southern California on Monday, January 30, 2017When I saw these, I just had to buy the throw featuring the moose for my father. He was quite tickled to find some winter sheets and bedding with a moose pattern a few years ago and I thought this would be a fun way to take that one step further. Plus, he lives where it gets bitterly cold, so he can always use a new blanket to stay warm and cozy while watching TV or reading the paper in his easy chair (it also fits in with his propensity for telling some truly awful moose jokes over the last 50+ years--the bane of many family gatherings, ha, ha!)
It also brought back some memories--he mentioned that he remembered his mother buying winter jackets and other warm clothing for her young sons from a very well regarded door-to-door Woolrich salesman--I guess this would have been sometime in the late 1930's/early 1940's (in Wisconsin). Quality then, quality now (& still made in the USA)
I also ordered a few of the other styles of Woolrich throws for my living room--and once I saw how nice they were, I came back to purchase more and I also picked up the bear and the elk designfor my family. I didn't realize until I unpacked my order that these Treverton throws featured the same pattern on both sides but in different contrasting shades but they are absolutely stunning, IMO. My favorite is the elk--very large & perfectly functional as a warm cozy throw, but the stylized design and rich colors also make it a great conversation piece and the price was simply fantastic--I bought it during a 25% off deal-flyer event, and I really feel as if one can't go wrong with any of the Woolrich blankets here on STP, especially considering the regular retail price of this exceptional item which should last for many years.
I would say that the wool is light to mid-weight--I know that doesn't sound very helpful, but the throw is fairly thick without being heavy (much lighter than the dense, old-fashioned wool utility blankets I have for emergencies) but not as light and airy as a thermal blanket. It is very warm--more so than I expected (and the size makes it easy to wrap up in)
I'm very tempted to purchase one or two more to set aside as gifts...
