Great alternative to chemical dryer sheets. I put a few drops of essential oil on them and clothes come out clean, fluffy. Dryer sheets can give cotton towels a greasy feel and less absorbent. These are re-useable and seem to last forever. Definitely recommend.

  • “How large (Inches in diameter) is each ball?
Asked by value shopper from PA on 9/2/2017 9:20:46 AM
    • 3 inches, about like a baseball.
Answered on 9/2/2017 11:26:06 AM by SnowGypsy from Kansas
    • Well, not so far... but I only use mine for drying sheets.

    • I use a Speed Queen top loading washer (and dryer) similar to commercial washers, and the spin cycle seems to remove a lot of the water. I have six of the wool dryer balls in the Speed Queen dryer; when the wet laundry is first placed in the dryer, and it's turned on, there is a lot of banging around at first, but this soon quietens down (but not entirely). My dryer has a large heavy duty drum, and I do not have problems with it being unbalanced, nor is their any damage that I have noticed.

    • Woolzies should not cause any thumping sounds..and I have a top rated dryer. Just making sure...you only use the woolzies in the dryer...never washer then dry, then the weight of wet woolzies might cause thumping. I just leave my woolzies in the dryer and never remove them.

    • Yes, when my Woolzies are in the dryer, it does make a lot more noise as they bounce around inside the drum.

    • The dryer balls do make a sound when tumbling, but the noise level of my dryer machine has not changed. My dryer is in my basement. I hear them upstairs but soon it is only backgrynoise.
Answered on 4/20/2017 10:56:05 PM by Mo_Gal from Ks
    • I haven't had a problem with that. What kind of noise? Could the dryer need to be leveled? Not much to a dryer to make noise, squeaky belt?
Answered on 4/21/2017 6:26:38 AM by SnowGypsy from Kansas
    • Yes, using these balls will result in a noisier sounding dryer, but varies depending on the size of the load you are drying.

  • “How long do these last? ”
Asked by Stephanie from South Dakota on 4/2/2017 5:53:24 PM
    • so far, forever... (e.g., six months with no wear)
Answered on 4/2/2017 5:54:59 PM by 3dvizwiz from Boulder, CO
    • I've been using mine for about a month so far and they still look like they are brand new and most importantly are taking care of the static. The box said they should last for 1,000 loads.
Answered on 4/2/2017 6:24:39 PM by jg from Californi
    • Stephanie, I don't know how long the dryer balls may last. My use of them has only been a month or two. My guess is they should last a long time. They don't show any sign of wear.

    • I've had mine for 2 years and they are still fine. I bought some for the kids. One family got them soaked and they had to toss them and get new.

    • No, if anything, the clothes I put in the dryer have less lint. I did not experience any "shedding" by my set of 6 woolzies.
