Different washes seem to have a different fit

First of all, the price can't be beat, especially with the right coupon. I now have 2 pair, both 29s. The pair that sold me on these is the ND wash which is 99% cotton, 1% spandex. They are exactly what I wanted - straight-leg jeans without a lot of stretch. I have a favorite 10+ year old pair of Gap jeans that I have been nursing along because everything went to stretchy bootleg or skinny (which I also wear, but different jeans for different situations, right?) and I couldn't find another pair like them. The ND wash jeans came into my life just as the fabric on my old jeans started ripping when I looked at it. Unfortunately, I had to decide if I wanted the waist or the length to fit properly so I chose waist and had to buy the 36s. I'm not going to bother to get them tailored since I won't be wearing these to work; I just roll them up and go.

I'm wearing the second pair at work right now. They're the Golden Trail wash which has 2% spandex. The wash is a little darker than the ND. I'm not as fond of the fabric, but I could get them in a 34 which is exactly right for my usual low-heeled casual shoes. The biggest issue is that they tend to pooch a little in front when I sit, but it's a small price to pay for unfussy, inexpensive jeans. I'm 5'8", 150 and curvy.

If the ND wash returns in a 29/34, I'm absolutely buying them.
