When it comes to slipping on ice, which has happened before, I would have been much better off if I had these on. Folds up for storage and no worries when you find yourself in winter time.

Fear no more. These Yaktrax "Spike" walkers will get you from here to there without danger. They fit well over shoes and really hug snow and ice--a step up from the usual winter overshoe. Easily adjustable and once set, stay in place. Great product!

Carbide inserts fell out and were lost on my first hike with them. The rest of the Yak worked great. Paid a couple bucks extra for the inserts-- won't do that again.

The first time I used the small Yaktrax, I lost one. We were walking in packed snow and the Yaktrax kept falling off . I have a womens size 5.5 shoe so they should have worked. Sometime during the last few yards of our walk, one fell off and I didn't know it until I went to take them off. I went back to try and find it but couldn't.

Look durable---the front and back rubber sections fit over the back/front of boots--not just flush with them. Since I haven't used them yet, I am hoping that this design is better than the ones I previously bought at a retail center and lost them the first time out! Gave them 4 stars as I have only tried them out in the house.

These spikes offer great traction on icy side walks etc and I would rate them much higher except I bought the correct size and yet the fall off every 5-10 minutes which makes them pretty unusable for any kind of walk.

    • No way to adjust for size. I wear a woman's 8 or 8.5 and the small is fine for me. If I wore a larger shoe or maybe had a heavy boot, it would just stretch more. I would assume that if you were close to the either of the size range, you might have a problem with them slipping off because they were too big or possibly pulled too taut.

    • There is no adjustment for size. They are rubber and stretch to fit over your shoe. You should order the size range that you wear in the shoe or boot that you are going to put them on. They stay on quite well and don't seem to stretch out.

    • The frame of the Yaktrax is made of a flexible, rubber-like material that stretches. It is easy to stretch
the Yaktrax over your shoe or boot...and very easy to take them off. There is a lot of stretch in this
frame material, so Yaktrax will fit a wide variety of sizes of shoes and boots.

    • They are made of rubber so can stretch over shoes to accommodate a range of sizes. Since this is their walking brand, you can verify the sizing information on the Yaktrax website (https://www.yaktrax.com/product/walk#).

You can also see the size suggestions supplied by Sierra Trading Post by clicking on the sizes available (Small, Medium, Large). The cooresponding shoe size will then display above.

About Yaktrax

Yaktrax represent a truly significant innovation for safer walking in urban winter conditions. Inexpensive but highly effective, Yaktrax slip-on ice traction allows incredible grip when walking on packed snow and ice. The simple but durable design of Yaktrax incorporates a crisscross pattern of reinforced steel coils on the sole that digs into any slick surface. Yaktrax traction can be easily slipped over most shoes or boots, and will prevent slips and falls on icy parking lots and sidewalks. Yaktrax can then be easily removed when indoors to maintain a professional appearance - making them ideal when you don’t want to wear pac boots to work. Yaktrax pull-on traction makes a great winter gift and is ideal for elderly men and women at a higher risk of falling, or anyone who wants to boost their confidence when walking on ice.
