These work as described, and make a significant improvement when traversing icy, crusted and/or slippery snow. They fit snugly and remain properly positioned. Accordingly, they require a modest effort to place on a boot or shoe which should be no surprise. Slip over the toe and stretch to fit over the heel. Inspect sides to ensure proper positioning. And voila! Ready to trek!!
