Great for hiking in the snow

I hike the Grand Canyon every January and most of the time there is snow at the top. Yaktraxs allow you to walk in a natural heel toe step unlike ice cleats. My entire hiking group uses Yaktraxs. The steel coils do eventually eat thru the rubber structure and they break - so we always have a backup pair.
