Good while they last

These were selling for under $10 so I thought why not? I'm an avid hiker and they helped my footing on several treks on packed snow and ice. "Several" being the reason for my 3-star rating. About the fourth time I used them I severed one of the treads. This was on a moderately strenuous 1-1/2-hour hike that a good traction device should be able to easily withstand. So I'd recommend them only if you wear them for trips to the mailbox or other light-duty purposes.
